Upcoming Presentations at International Marine Conservation Congress and OceansOnline
Suzanne Iudicello, Jill Swasey, and Peter Taylor from the Measuring the Effects of Catch Shares project team will be attending the International Marine Conservation Congress in St. John’s, Newfoundland, from July 30 through August 3, 2016. Our presentations will include:
- Design:Data Disconnect – How shifting baselines and imprecise objectives complicate environmental evaluation (11:00 a.m., August 3)
- Harnessing data and information for knowledge and action: Best practices to link science, management, and stakeholders through strategic communication (3:45 p.m., August 3)
Our exhibit booth will also showcase Measuring the Effects of Catch Shares during the Congress. The booth will feature a live demo of the online catch share indicator reporting tools.
In addition, we will be participating on August 4 in OceansOnline, which is an add-on IMCC event that will advance the ways marine science is conducted, shared, and communicated online. OceansOnline will bring together hundreds of scientists and conservation professionals, as well as science writers, artists, programmers, and educators from around the world, representing universities, organizations, government agencies, and companies. We will be presenting Measuring effects of catch shares: A user-friendly online dashboard of ecological, economic, social, and governance data for managers and stakeholders.
